"The Known Health Effects of UV." World Health Organization. World Health Organization, n.d. Web. 14 Nov. 2014. <http://www.who.int/uv/faq/uvhealtfac/en/>.

This article explains the differences between UVA and UVB and their effects on the skin and the possibility of cancer. UVB penetrates further into the skin and triggers melanin producers in the dermis. UVA only reaches the surface of the skin, and is generally held responsible for skin cancers of all kinds. UVB exposure is actually necessary to build up any defense against UVA.
